Treating PTSD Effectively With Trauma Conversion Therapy
Patrick Poor, M.S., LMFT, is offering a course in the diagnosis and treatment of trauma disorders, including PTSD and Dissociative Disorders. This skills based course will provide licensed psychotherapists, interns and associates with the skills to:
Use a deep relaxation to access the subconscious mind
Accurately diagnose and effectively treat trauma disorders including PTSD and Dissociative
Disorders
Describe the process of "structural dissociation" and what part it plays in PTSD
Describe the process of Trauma Conversion Therapy
Explain what is curative with trauma disorders.
It includes 40 hours of training, 5 eight hour days with 1-3 weeks between those days to practice the skills. The course will include lectures, live and video demonstrations of the skills, handouts, scripts to lead you step by step through the process, and group discussions of cases to demonstrate you are developing the skills. There will be some outside reading that will not receive CEUs.
Mr. Poor received specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of Dissociative and other trauma disorders, and has been refining those skills for over 20 years. He has trained several groups of therapists in this technique and they are using the skills successfully. Mr. Poor currently works in a private practice and in a psychiatric medical group.
This course meets the qualifications for 35 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, through the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. The cost of the course is $500. There is a $25 charge for cancellations after 3 days, and no refund for cancellations within 5 days of the beginning of the course.
